You’ve probably inferred – smart folks that you are – that my post-less period is due to the myriad plates I have spinning these days, and you’re right.

Chalk closes tomorrow, after a really fun run. We actually had our biggest house last night, despite an apparent mix up in the DCA’s staffing schedule. (There was no front-of-house personnel, box office equipment, or programs. There actually wasn’t even a stage when the tech team got there.) We pulled it off, though, and the crowd was with us the whole time. Ah, theatre.

Rehearsals for 1776 are in full swing – the actors-first-singers-second among us are knocking the rust off the ol’ vocal chords. And we’re not intimidated at all by the phalanx of trained warblers surrounding us. No, sir.

This Thursday at 8pm the clock starts on 100 hours of movie-making madness as the Very Clever gang revs our creative engines for the Film Racing Grand Prix. We’ve no idea what the film will look like, so we’re getting our usual suspects on call and blocking out two days for photography and a day each for writing and editing/post-production. Of course, that all goes out the window if we decide to do another film about brains on a table. As voting is open to the public, rest assured you’ll know when it’s up.

I also got a last-minute opportunity to get some new photos taken – courtesy of Jill Paider photography. Jill put out a call for some actors for a shoot designed to expand her portfolio, and paid us back in trade. The CD should arrive next week some time, so I’ll know then if I lucked into the early completion of one of my goals for the winter: new headshots for 2008-09 season auditions and something I can send to agent-types.

Buy me a beer?
