I, Homunculus

inside, out

This is the Remix

There have been some changes to our scheduled agenda. OK, my scheduled agenda.

A while back, I waxed euphoric about my admittedly non-standard level of success this past year in the acting game. The old adage on raining vis a vis pouring has been borne out: a couple of weeks ago I was cast in Laughter on the 23rd Floor at Raven. Sadly (and, I cynically add, “of course“) it conflicted with my planned appearance in Hayfever out at Circle Theater this summer, so I was presented with my first Chicago Theatre Dilemma. I ultimately chose Laughter as I was improbably cast as Lucas, the authorial stand-in and arguably the central character. As much as it pains me to so blatantly countermand the Neil Simon Moratorium, ain’t no way I’m passing up an opportunity like this.

I am now in the strange position of looking into the new year, knowing that I will be in rehearsals, performances, or both for the next seven months – more, if Laughter’s already sizable nine-week run gets extended. I don’t know if anything could be more steadying as I plan to embark on my most ambitious round of general auditions yet.

Buy me a beer?
